ALCHEMISTS (Teen group)

Our teen program is designed to help our youth learn how to set goals, gain leadership skills, and achieve self transformation through applying spiritual knowledge.

Our youth group, The Alchemists, whose motto is "We transform the world by transforming ourselves," meets weekly on Saturday nights at 6:45 pm. During New Years and the 4th of July, The Alchemists join with other youth members from around the world for Teen Retreat weeks in Texas and Montana.

At their weekly meetings, they study spiritual truths of the World Religions, practice the Science of the Spoken Word, pray for youth around the world, plan fundraising strategies, and have fun!

The Alchemists raise money to get to the Teen Retreats and for Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), their favorite local charity. In the past several years they have packed thousands of meal to send to needy children around the world. They have held yard sales, lunches, dinners, bake sales, silent auctions, raffles, and sold hundreds of discount pizza cards to help them get to their retreats. They give 10% of their sponsorship drives to FMSC.

In addition to FMSC, they also volunteer in our local church community when needed and inspire our members with their acting, singing, and dancing talents. For the last several years, The Alchemists have organized our church's All Saints Eve (Halloween) party for the preschool and elementary children.

For fun, every summer they have a weekend retreat at Bear Island in Wisconsin. During the rest of the year they have sleepovers, movie nights, and even occasional dinners at Buca's.
